Some classic cars have a story. This beautiful 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 has a history that can be traced all the way back to the gentleman who ordered it new! Finished in striking white with blue Z28 graphics and a beautiful blue interior, this exceptionally well-preserved Camaro has traveled just 40,000 original miles and remained in the same family from new until our recent acquisition. The original owner was employed at the General Motors Technical Center and personally ordered this Z28 to his specifications. Following his passing, the Camaro was inherited by his daughter and son-in-law, whom we have known for many years. We were fortunate enough to purchase this special car directly from the family, and its history and condition are exactly what we look for in an original, unmolested classic. Under the hood is its original 350 cubic-inch V8 engine, paired with its original automatic transmission. This Z28 was ordered with an excellent selection of factory options, including air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power windows, power door locks, rear-window defogger and AM/FM stereo. And yes, the air conditioning blows nice and cold! The exterior presents beautifully and appears to retain the vast majority of its original white finish, complemented by its distinctive blue Z28 graphics, factory-style wheels and BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The blue interior is equally impressive, retaining its original character with beautiful seating, carpeting, door panels, dash and instrumentation. What really sets this Camaro apart is its honest, remarkably solid condition. The undercarriage, floors and trunk are exceptionally solid, with the natural appearance and age characteristics you want to see on a well-preserved 47-year-old automobile. This is not a freshly restored Camaro dressed up to look original. It is an authentic Z28 that has been carefully preserved and enjoyed sparingly throughout its life. Accompanying the car is a wonderful collection of original documentation, including its owner's manual, original warranty information identifying the original purchaser, factory ordering information and additional literature. Finding a genuine second-generation Z28 is one thing. Finding one with 40,000 original miles, its original engine and transmission, one-family ownership, desirable factory equipment and a history you can actually trace is something entirely different.
