2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 – 53,139 Original Miles – Orange Blast Pearl – Sunroof – Kicker Audio. Finding a Dodge Neon SRT-4 today isn't particularly difficult. Finding one that hasn't spent the last 20 years being heavily modified, raced, abused, taken apart and put back together is an entirely different story. This well-preserved 2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 has just 53,139 original miles, and has had only two owners from new. Finished in the stunning Orange Blast Pearl over the original Dark Slate SRT interior, this is an unusually original example of one of the most memorable factory performance cars of the early 2000s. Under the hood is the legendary 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, factory rated at 230 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque and paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission. The SRT-4 was far more than a Neon with a turbocharger—it received substantial upgrades to its engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, cooling system, wheels, tires and bodywork, creating one of the great performance bargains of its era. What makes this particular example especially appealing is its originality. So many SRT-4s were extensively modified when new that finding one still presenting essentially as Dodge built it has become increasingly difficult. This car remains remarkably stock throughout, with the only modification we have identified being an aftermarket blow-off valve. Otherwise, the engine compartment, interior, exterior and major mechanical components retain an exceptionally original appearance. It was also unusually well equipped when new. The original window sticker shows a delivered MSRP of $23,380, including the optional Orange Blast Pearl paint, power sunroof, Kicker/SRT Livin' Loud premium audio system and supplemental side-impact airbags. The factory Kicker system remains with the car, including its trunk-mounted equipment, and the original Kicker literature is included. The Orange Blast Pearl exterior presents beautifully, retaining the aggressive factory SRT-4 appearance with its functional hood scoop, unique front and rear fascias, signature rear spoiler, 17-inch wheels, red brake calipers and dual exhaust. The color absolutely comes alive under the lights and is one of those finishes that could only have come from this era. Inside, the original SRT sport seats, 5-speed shifter, white-faced instrumentation and factory trim remain exceptionally well preserved. The car also retains its original-style audio equipment and power sunroof. The primary interior imperfection is a crack in the upper dashboard, a common age-related issue on these cars. A fitted dash mat is included and covers the affected area. We would rather disclose the flaw than pretend it isn't there. This SRT-4 spent its life in Nebraska, and its condition underneath reflects it. The undercarriage is remarkably clean and original, with factory finishes still readily visible and none of the heavy corrosion so commonly encountered on Midwestern examples. We have included detailed undercarriage photographs because its preservation deserves to be seen. Just as importantly, this car comes with an excellent collection of original documentation and service history, including its original owner's manuals, factory literature, Kicker audio information, keys and remotes, build information and service receipts. Major age-related maintenance has already been addressed. At approximately 51,785 miles, the car received a timing belt and water pump replacement, along with coolant service and an oil and filter change. With only 53,139 miles currently showing, that important service was completed roughly 1,350 miles ago and is supported by the accompanying receipt. The Neon SRT-4 has long since graduated from simply being a cheap, fast used car. These cars represent a period when Dodge managed to put serious turbocharged performance into an inexpensive four-door sedan and created something that developed an enthusiast following almost immediately. Unfortunately, that same following means remarkably few survived in anything close to original condition. This one did. With two-owner history, only 53,139 original miles, accident-free history, beautiful Orange Blast Pearl paint, desirable factory sunroof and Kicker audio options, excellent Kansas undercarriage, documented recent timing-belt service and an excellent original overall presentation, this is exactly the kind of SRT-4 that has become increasingly difficult to find.
