Vehicle Description

Here is one that has become increasingly difficult to find in anything even remotely resembling this condition! Mashburn Motors is proud to offer this beautiful 2004 Dodge Neon SRT-4 finished in Flame Red with only 46,009 original miles. Purchased from the estate of its original owner in Iowa, this SRT-4 is a true one-owner, accident-free example with a clean Carfax history and, most importantly, it has escaped the fate of so many of these cars by remaining remarkably original and unmolested. Under the hood is Dodge's legendary turbocharged and intercooled 2.4-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder, producing 230 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque and backed by the heavy-duty 5-speed manual transmission. For 2004, the SRT-4 also received a Quaife-developed limited-slip differential, making this one of the most memorable factory sport compacts of its era. What really separates this car from the pack is its condition and originality. The Flame Red exterior is beautiful, with excellent gloss, a straight body and an overall appearance that reflects the life this car has lived. The factory 17-inch wheels remain in excellent condition and the car is sitting on a brand-new set of tires. The signature hood scoop, rear spoiler, dual exhaust and aggressive SRT-4 bodywork are all there, giving these cars the unmistakable look that made them so popular when new. The interior is equally impressive. The original SRT sport seats are exceptionally well preserved, the bolsters show very little wear, the carpets, dash, door panels and headliner are all clean, and even the steering wheel and interior trim show just how well this car has been cared for. Simply put, the inside does not look like that of a 22-year-old performance car. This SRT-4 has remained largely stock, which today may be its most important attribute. The only notable changes are an aftermarket stereo and taillights, and we have the original factory radio and original taillight assemblies that will accompany the car, allowing the next owner to return those items to factory configuration if desired. Under the hood you'll find none of the typical modifications so often associated with these cars—no giant aftermarket intake, no assortment of performance add-ons and no evidence that someone tried to reinvent what Dodge got right from the factory. The car has also been recently serviced and brought up to our standards, including the installation of four brand-new tires replacing the originals. The engine compartment remains exceptionally clean and original in appearance, while underneath you'll find an honest, solid Midwestern survivor showing normal age-related oxidation but none of the heavily rusted, patched or abused condition so commonly found on cars of this vintage. The SRT-4 was anything but an ordinary Neon. In 2004, Dodge packed a 230-horsepower turbocharged engine, 5-speed manual, limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes and performance suspension into a roughly 2,900-pound sedan that originally cost only about $20,000. That combination helped create an entire generation of enthusiasts—and unfortunately also meant that many were modified, raced, wrecked or simply used up. That is exactly why finding one like this has become so difficult. One owner. 46,009 original miles. Accident-free history. Beautiful Flame Red paint. Excellent original interior. Largely unmodified. Original removed components included. Brand-new tires. Recently serviced. If you've been searching for an SRT-4 to modify, there are probably plenty of others to choose from. If you've been waiting for an exceptionally preserved example that somehow made it through more than two decades without being modified, abused or passed from owner to owner, this is the one worth looking at.
