Vehicle Description

1999 Dodge Viper RT/10 – 524 Miles – One Owner – Viper Black / Cognac Connolly Leather. Some cars are preserved. Others simply never got used. Offered here is an extraordinary 1999 Dodge Viper RT/10 showing just 524 miles, finished in the spectacular combination of Viper Black over Cognac Connolly leather. This is a one-owner car from new, backed by a clean, accident-free Carfax history, and it recently came to us as part of an exceptional private collection of extraordinarily low-mile automobiles. The second-generation Viper remains one of the purest American performance cars ever produced. Under that massive clamshell hood sits Dodge's legendary 8.0-liter V10 producing 450 horsepower, backed by a Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission. There are no paddle shifters, no selectable drive modes and very little separating the driver from the machine. The RT/10 is the Viper in its purest form—a huge naturally aspirated V10, a manual gearbox and one of the most unmistakable bodies ever put into production. The color combination makes this particular example even more special. Viper Black with the optional Cognac Connolly leather interior is absolutely stunning in person. The rich Cognac leather covers the seats, steering wheel, shift knob, parking brake and much of the center console and lower interior, providing a dramatic contrast against the black exterior. Only 116 Black/Cognac RT/10s were produced for 1999, making this an exceptionally desirable configuration. What separates this Viper, however, is its preservation. With only 524 miles, the car remains remarkably original throughout. The Viper Black paint retains tremendous depth and gloss, the body and exterior trim present beautifully, and the polished factory wheels remain outstanding. This car has not undergone an extensive cosmetic restoration or been over-detailed in an attempt to recreate its youth. What you are looking at is simply an exceptionally preserved, ultra-low-mile example that has spent virtually its entire life in careful storage. The Cognac interior is equally impressive. The driver's seat and bolsters show remarkably little evidence of use, while the carpeting, dashboard, gauges, steering wheel, shifter, console and switchgear retain the appearance expected of a Viper that has traveled only a few hundred miles. Even the original factory audio system remains in place. Lift the hood and the same story continues. The spectacular V10 engine compartment remains highly original and exceptionally clean, retaining its factory intake system, air boxes, hardware and signature red intake manifold and valve covers. Underneath, the chassis, suspension and exhaust further illustrate just how little road use this car has experienced, with factory finishes, markings and components still plainly visible. Remarkably, the Viper is also still riding on its original tires. They are an important part of the car's preservation and history and further demonstrate just how untouched this example has remained. Due to their age, however, they should be considered display/preservation tires rather than suitable for continued performance driving. After coming out of long-term collection storage, the car received a new battery, fresh fluids and fresh fuel. It starts, runs and drives beautifully, with the incredibly tight feel that can only be found in a Viper that has essentially never been driven. The car includes its factory soft-top and related top/window components and storage pieces, along with one set of keys, and the factory owner's books are also included. At nearly three decades old, finding any Gen II Viper that hasn't been modified, heavily driven or cosmetically restored is becoming increasingly difficult. Finding a one-owner, accident-free 1999 RT/10 with only 524 miles, original tires, outstanding preservation and the rare Black/Cognac Connolly leather combination is an entirely different proposition. This isn't an old Viper that has been restored to resemble a low-mile car. It is the low-mile car. For more info contact Kevin at Mashburn Motors.
